Thank you

I wanted to thank everyone who has sent best thoughts, wishes and prayers while my friend has been in the hospital. The outpouring of kindness and sympathy from people I have never even met has just been unbelievable. Unfortunately, I have bad news. My friend died on Saturday morning. Her parents, sister and I were with her. She was a funny, smart, incredibly generous and loving person, who liked seafood, Tom Waits, Jane Austen, cats, Edward Gorey, romantic comedies, dark humor, rainy days, breakfast at diners, and Vermeer. She was thirty-three years old. I will always miss her.

I am so very sorry you have lost your friend. What a fascinating woman she must have been. I wish her spirit well, and to you I wish peace.

Seems a little random to answer here ... but wanted you to know I'm continuing to think of you. T told me about your most recent conversation, and all I can say is that I share your anger and hurt. Funerals really should be a gift, and when they're a slap in the face it makes me very, very angry. :-(

Curiousbaker,

I just swung in to your site after thinking it had been a long time since I had seen you at Chowhound. I'm really sorry to hear about your friend. I imagine this has been a difficult time for you (friend in hospital, work and school). I hope you're well and being taken care of.

Fondly, Smokey

P.S. (don't forget about us over at chowhound--I miss you!)
